Art for Life in the Hamptons

The Perlman Music Program's Annual Summer Benefit at the oceanside estate of Annette and Ian Cumming.
The Perlman Music Program's Annual Summer Benefit was held this past Saturday at the oceanside estate of Annette and Ian Cumming. The benefit, which the Cummingses co-hosted with Sidney and Morgan Stark, featured an orchestra and choir concert which was followed by a dinner.

The Perlman Music Program was established by Toby Perlman in 1993 to provide a positive learning environment for exceptionally promising young violin, viola, cello, and bass students. Through intensive summer programs, year-round mentoring, and on occasion, an international study or performance tour, the program offers unparalleled musical training for students, ages 12 to 30. With a world class faculty led by Itzhak Perlman and comprising some of the most gifted musical minds of our time, the Program offers an artistic and personal experience that changes students' lives forever.

This past Sunday, July 25, in Southampton, David Bohnett, a trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and his partner, Tom Gregory, hosted a cocktail reception kicking off the celebrations for the opening of the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion at LACMA in the fall.

David and Tom have a home on Lake Agawam and entertained a group of LACMA supporters including Chuck and Ellen Scarborough, Bryon and Maria Cooper Janis, Irwin Weiner and Jay Johnson, Barbarlee Diamonstein and Carl Spielvogel. LACMA’s Director, Michael Govan and his wife, Katherine Ross, were also in attendance.
The Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion, a single-story, 45,000 square foot structure, is the largest purpose-built, naturally lit, open-plan museum space in the world. It is a key feature of LACMA’s ongoing Transformation, which dramatically expands the museum’s exhibition space and also further unifies the western half of the museum’s 20-acre campus.

The Gala honoring the Resnicks and highlighting the opening of the pavilion is scheduled for September 25. The Host Committee for the event is Shelli Azoff, David Bohnett, Eva Chow, David Geffen, Wendy Goldberg, Bobby Kotick, Michael Milken, Jane Nathanson, Carole Bayer Sager, Terry Semel and Florence Sloan.
