Event Title:
Hats for Hope, A Madcap Event!

Event Description:
Roberta Freymann is pleased to host “Hats for Hope, a Madcap Event!” to benefit Project A.L.S. at her East Hampton boutique. The benefit features a silent auction of Roberta’s fabulous summer beach hats customized and designed by 15-20 high profile personalities. The evening of fashion and fun will include cocktails and hor d’oeuvres, which will be served during the benefit throughout the boutique’s 1,500 square-foot beautiful space. With Hats for Hope, both Roberta and Project A.L.S. look to raise funds for an important cause in fun summer style. This year's mad hatters include Alicia Witt, Lisa Anastos, Cynthia Rowley, Tiffany Dubin, Suzy Slesin, Marcia Mishaan, Debbie Bancroft, Samantha Perelman, Roberta Freymann, Lisa Wassong, Faye Wattleton, Bonnie Verbitsky, James Coviello, Martha McCully, Melinda Hackett, Muffie Potter Aston, Katie Ford, Jaime Drake, Thom Filicia, Rolan Nivelais, Victoria Hagan, and Jane Alexander amoung others.

ABOUT PROJECT A.L.S.: ALS (amyotrophic later sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a fatal neuromuscular disorder closely related to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s diseases. Project A.L.S.’s mission is to bring the best science to A.L.S. patients in the form of effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure. The hallmark of Project A.L.S. research is collaboration which forces researchers who were once competitors to play on the same team, sharing data openly and aggressively seek to find a cure for sufferers of this fatal disease. Project A.L.S.’s fundraising proceeds support investigations in genetics, drug discovery, stem cell research, and disease pathways to provide effective treatments and a cure to ALS sufferers. Project A.L.S. has raised over $30 million, directing 81% of the funds to research.
